― 能登サポート　Noto Support
　カリタス南相馬のスタッフが一週間交代で七尾教会でのサポートに行っています。聖霊会のシスター村上が炊き出しの手伝いに行かれました。聖霊会の修道院にサポートスタッフの女性は泊めていただいています。男性は羽咋教会に宿泊。今は主に「じんのび食堂」での炊き出しと水支援に協力しています。「じんのび」は方言で「のんびり」という意味だそうです。 Caritas Minamisoma staff members are taking turns for a week to support at Nanao Church. Sr. Murakami (Holy Spirit Sister) went to help in the soup kitchen. The women support staff are staying at the convent of the Holy Spirit Society. Men stay at Hakui Church. They are now mainly cooperating with the soup kitchen at the Jinnobi Cafeteria and with water support.

― 2月15日には聖心会の車に水支援のためのタンク、車のタイヤ、スタッフのための寝具3組を詰め込んで、幸田司教さまとスタッフの宇根さんとで金沢に行かれました。聖心会の車はカリタス南相馬の車として、しばらくは能登サポートのために活用していただくことになりました。聖心会の車はこの10年くらい、南相馬での様々な活動や、シスター畠中が行う現地案内のために活用してきました。日本管区に感謝です。On February 15, we packed the car of the Sacred Heart with a tank for water, tires and three sets of bedding for the staff. Bishop Koda and Mr. Une, a Caritas staff member, went to Kanazawa. The Sacred Heart car will be used for a while to support Noto. The car has been used for the past 10 years by Sr. Hatanaka for activities in Minamisoma, such as guiding people to the site. We are grateful to the Japan Province for the use of the car.

― 恵方巻き　Ehoumaki (rolled sushi to bring happiness)
2月8日に眞こころサロンの方達が恵方巻きを準備してくださいました。節分の時にするものですが、少し遅れてのイベント。楽しく、皆それぞれに自分の太巻き寿司を作り、東北東の方角を向いて、食べ終わるまでおしゃべりをしないで黙って食べました。食後には恒例のビンゴパーテイ。手作りのバッグ等素敵な賞品ぞろいで賑やかに過ごしました。On February 8, Makokoro Salon members prepared "ehomaki". This event is usually held on the occasion of Setsubun, but it was held a little later at Caritas Minamisoma. Everyone enjoyed making their own sushi rolls, which we ate facing east-northeast (the direction where a god of happiness believed to be), without talking until they finished the whole roll. After the meal, we had our annual bingo party. We all enjoyed the game with many wonderful prizes, such as handmade bags.

― 卒業生から贈っていただいたバレンタインのチョコレートも眞こころサロンの方達に分かち合いました。さゆり幼稚園にも差し上げました。Both Makokoro Salon people and Sayuri Kindergarten children were happy to have Valentine's day chocolate that was sent by a Sacred Heart graduate.

― シスター山本千尋が春休みになって南相馬に来てくださいました。カリタス南相馬がどのような活動をしているかを見たり、参加したり、充実した数日間を過ごして東京へ戻られました。Sr. Chihiro Yamamoto came to Minamisoma for her spring break. She returned to Tokyo after spending a few days in Minamisoma, participating in some of our activities and went around to see the current situation of the disaster areas.

― 2月６日　南相馬にも久しぶりで大雪。夜のうちに降り積もったので、小高の援助マリアのシスターたちもカリタスには来られず、聖霊会、聖心会のメンバーもカリタスには行かず、ミサにも預かれませんでした。昼間は太陽も出て、道路の雪もかなり溶けたので夕食には集まることができました。On February 6, it snowed heavily in Minamisoma for the first time in a long time. The snow fell during the night, so the Mary Auxiliatrice Sisters in Odaka could not come to Caritas, and Holy Spirit Sister and Sacred Heart Sister could not go to Caritas either.　We were not able to attend Mass. During the daytime, the sun came out and the snow on the roads melted, so we were able to gather for dinner.

 ― 原町区萱浜の農家の長谷川幸雄さん。いつもカリタスに野菜を沢山もってきてくださる方。三味線の先生でもあり、ご趣味で竹のしの笛を作られる方。今回、原町区の大甕小学校に、しの笛30本を寄贈されました。小学校4年生の総合学習の時間に地元の伝統文化を知るということで、しの笛を届け、子どもたちは演奏も体験しました。Mr. Yukio Hasegawa, a farmer in Kaihama, Haramachi-ku, who always brings us a lot of vegetables, is a Shamisen (three-stringed Japanese banjo) teacher. He also makes bamboo flutes as a hobby. This time, he donated 30 bamboo flutes to Ohmika Elementary School in Haramachi Ward. The 4th graders of the elementary school received the flutes as a part of their integrated learning program to learn about the local traditional culture. They learned about the flute and had a chance to play the flute.
