― 高校生ボランティア　High School Student Volunteers

夏休みになりボランテイア活動に東京清瀬の東星学園高校、京都の洛星高校、広島学院高等学校から元気な高校生たちが来てくださいました。現地見学、草抜きボランティアなどの活動を通して原発事故の被災地、被災された方々との触れ合い、体験話を聞かせていただきながら、それぞれの地へ帰って行かれました。感謝です。震災の時には生まれていなかったか、生後何ヶ月の世代の人たちです。実際にこの地に来られて、体験して、学びの多い時になったと思います。夕食後には高校生の1日の活動の振り返りを聞かせていただき、スタッフも多くのことを学ばせていただいています。With the start of summer vacation, energetic high school students from Tosei High School in Kiyose, Tokyo; Rakusei High School in Kyoto; and Hiroshima Gakuin High School came to join us for volunteer activities. Through activities such as site visits and weeding, they interacted with the areas affected by the nuclear accident and the people who were affected, listened to their personal stories, and then returned to their respective homes. We are very grateful. These students were either not yet born or only a few months old when the disaster struck. I believe that coming here in person to experience and learn firsthand made this a very enriching time for them. After dinner, the students shared reflections on their day's activities, and the staff also learned a great deal from them.

―「やどりぎ」" Yadorigi"

子ども食堂の支援物資の受け取りに小高にある「やどりぎ」に行きました。お米、味噌ラーメン、醤油ラーメンなどたくさんいただき、感謝のうちに戻りました。ハンバーグをいただいたこともあり、ハンバーグカレーにして子どもたちが喜びました。やどりぎは子どもたちの居場所、遊び場所にもなっているところで、ポニーやヤギがいました。We went to "Yadorigi" in Odaka to pick up relief supplies for the children's kitchen. We received plenty of rice, miso ramen, soy sauce ramen, and more, and returned home filled with gratitude. Since we were also given hamburger patties, we made hamburger curry, which the children loved at the Caritas parent/children kitchen. "Yadorigi" serves as a safe space and playground for the children, and there were ponies and goats there.

原町からの車での往復の途中の畑に思いがけないものを見つけました。「墾心楽土」（こんしんらくど）と書かれた石碑。「心を耕えることで安らかな世界をひらく」という意味のようです。On the drive back and forth from Haramachi, we found something unexpected in a field along the way: a stone monument inscribed with the words "Kon-shin-raku-do." It seems to mean "By cultivating the heart, we open the door to a peaceful world."

― 東京からの訪問客の案内で双葉方面に行った時に今回初めて東日本大震災被災者の慰霊碑を見ました。また、浪江の相馬大堀焼の一人の窯元の方で震災後初めてお店を再開されたところを訪ねました。登り窯などはいわきにあり息子さんが後を継いでおられるとのこと。この店には毎日いわきから通って来られています。While guiding visitors from Tokyo to the Futaba area, I saw a memorial monument for the victims of the Great East Japan Earthquake for the first time. I also visited a potter in Namie who specializes in Soma Ohori-yaki pottery and was the first to reopen his shop after the disaster. He said that his climbing kiln is located in Iwaki and that his son has been looking after that. He commutes to this shop every day from Iwaki.

― まごころサロン Magokoro Salon

久しぶりにまごころサロンの昼食と午後のビンゴパーテイに参加。たくさんの賞品が並び、盛り上がりました。For the first time in a while, I participated in the Magokoro Salon's lunch and afternoon bingo party. There were many prizes on display, and the event was a great success.

― カリタス南相馬のデッキに新しく登場のハイビスカス。深紅の花を毎日咲かせ、エネルギーをいただいています。A new hibiscus plant has appeared on the deck at Caritas Minamisoma. It blooms with deep red flowers every day, giving us a boost of energy.
