― サムライフェス　Samurai Festival

5月3-5日の連休には相馬恒例のサムライフェスに聖心女子大生が７人、杉原真晃先生の引率でボランティアに来られました。地元の高校生と共に子供対象のプログラムのお手伝いをして、一緒に楽しみました。During the May 3–5 holiday weekend, seven students from the University of the Sacred Heart, led by Professor Sugihara, came to volunteer at Soma's annual Samurai Festival. Together with local high school students, they helped with programs for children and enjoyed the event together.

― 小高区にある浦尻貝塚縄文の丘公園　Urajiri Shell Mound Jomon Hill Park in Odaka Ward

貝塚観察館より少し上に上がった所に新しくガイダンス資料館ができています。平日は職員はいないようですが、5月の連休の時にはボランティアの方が2人で館内の説明をしてくださいました。A new Guidance Museum has been built slightly above the Shell Mound Observation Center. While there don't seem to be any staff members on weekdays, two volunteers were on hand during the May holiday to provide explanations inside the museum.

― 国営福島県復興祈念公園 National Fukushima Prefecture Reconstruction Memorial Park

　浪江町と双葉町にまたがって東日本大震災の犠牲者への追悼と鎮魂の場として2026年5月
２日に開館しました。海に面した所に献花台ができています。Spanning Namie Town and Futaba Town, this park opened on May 2, 2026, as a place of remembrance and mourning for the victims of the Great East Japan Earthquake. A flower offering platform has been set up facing the sea.

― カリタス親子食堂 Caritas Parent-Child Kitchen

　今月のメニュー。
　カレーライス、サラダ、デザートにチョコレートケーキとアイスクリーム。
　東京からお手伝いに来てくださった方があり感謝です。

― 相馬野馬追　Soma Nomaoi

5月23−25日恒例の相馬野馬追。準備が進んでいます。The annual Soma Nomaoi festival (horse festival) will be held on May 23–25.
