― シスター棚瀬佐知子来訪　Sr. Sachiko Tanase visited Caritas Minamisoma

３泊４日でカリタス南相馬に来られ、短い期間でしたが、盛りだくさんの現地案内に参加され、南相馬での活動を見ていただくことができました。福島第二原発オフサイトセンター、請戸の大平山霊園、東電の廃炉資料館、大熊町産業交流施設にある中間貯蔵事業情報センター、とみおかアーカイブミュージアム、おれたちの伝承館。She stayed for 4 days and 3 nights at Caritas Minamisoma. Although it was a short visit, she participated in a tour of the disaster area and was able to see our activities in Minamisoma. Fukushima Daini Nuclear Power Station Off-site Center in Naraha, Ohirayama Cemetery in Ukedo, TEPCO's Nuclear Decommissioning Museum, Interim Storage Project Information Center at Okuma Town, Tomioka Archive Museum, and Oretachi no Denshokan (Folklore Museum).

楢葉町にある「原子力災害対策センター」（オフサイトセンター）にカリタス南相馬のスタッフで見学に行きました。ここは「福島第二原子力発電所で緊急事態が発生した場合に応急対策を行う活動拠点」（パンフレットより）になっているところです。 The Off-site Center is "a base for emergency response activities in the event of an emergency at the Fukushima No. 2 Nuclear Power Station" (from the pamphlet).

― カリタス食堂　Caritas Kitchen

今月もカリタス食堂で賑やかに子どもたちの声を聞きながら、オムライスとサラダ！一人一人の名前の書かれたオムライスを受け取る子ども。お母さんたちも久しぶりに自分の名前の書かれたオムライスに嬉しそうでした。7月最後のカリタス食堂のメニューはカレーライスでしたが、デザートはなんとかき氷！！　メロン、イチゴ、ハワイアンブルーと３種類のシロップから選べました。大好評！！！おかわりもできました。Caritas Kitchen again this month! The menu this time was an omelette with each one's name written on it. The menu of the last Wednesday in July was curry and rice, and the dessert was shaved ice! It was a big hit! We even had second helpings. Children could choose the syrup from three different kinds.

― 同慶寺のハス　Lotus flowers at Dokeiji Temple in Odaka

小高の曹洞宗小高山同慶寺の境内にたくさんのハス。近くにハスの畑もあり、今年は念願のハスの花を見ることができました。朝早く咲き、９時頃にはしぼみ始めるとのことで、ギリギリの時間に見ることができました。かなり背が高く、なかなか写真は撮れません。同慶寺の境内に珍しい葉も見つけました。オキザリストリアングラリスという名前です。和名は紫の舞。Lots of lotus flowers in Odakayama Dokeiji Temple. There is also a lotus field nearby, and this year we were able to see the lotus flowers, which we had longed for. The lotus blooms early in the morning and starts to wilt around 9:00 a.m. We went there just in time. They are quite tall and not easy to take a photo. We also found some unusual leaves. They are called 'oxalis triangulalis'. Its Japanese name is Murasaki no Mai. (Dance in purple)

― 原町のヒマワリ畑　Sunflower field in Haramachi

幸田司教様が撮られた写真。「原発事故の土壌汚染で農作物ができなくなった時、放射性セシュームを吸着しない作物、搾った油に放射性物質が残留しにくい、除染の効果もある」（福島民報より）ということでヒマワリがあちこちで栽培されているようです。
