“I cited for them the example of the Blessed Virgin, who among all creatures was the most closely united to God, and who knew more than anyone else the excellence and happiness of that union, since her love and knowledge of Jesus her divine son was the most perfect possible. Yet when the good of the neighbor required it we see her leave her prayer; we see her travel across the hills to rejoice with her cousin Saint Elizabeth, and after the death of Our Lord, she worked together with the apostles for the salvation of souls.” |

For prayer :祈りのために Let us ask our Lord, through Mary, the mother of Jesus and mother of the Church, for the grace of lively faith, of simplicity, of courage to do his will when it is clear to us and to others. May Mary, faithful virgin, help us to struggle against the infidelities that close our hearts and distance them from our Lord, those little voluntary infidelities to which we yield so easily: a light that we do not want to follow, an inspiration we resist.” (Conference, 1827) |
