For prayer :　祈りのために

It is always possible to seek rewards in prayer, to want to experience strong feelings. That can be a subtle form of self-seeking.

If I discover this bent in myself now or habitually, I resolve to place myself before the Lord at the beginning of prayer, to recognize that he is there and that it is he who acts, as he wishes.

祈りのうちに報いを求め、強い気持ちを経験したいと望むことは、いつもありうることです。それは自分を求める微妙な形のものです。

この傾向を今、見つけたら、あるいは習慣になっていることに気がついたら、祈りのはじめに自分自身を主の前に置き、主がそこにおられ、主が望まれるように動かれるのは主であることを認めます。
