The Research Institute for the Catholic Education of Women was established by the School Corporation of the Sacred Heart in 1990. At present, the main activities of this Institute consist of research concerning the Catholic education of women and the offering of services to the Sacred Heart Schools in Japan through the research center and teachers' workshops.

A future aim is to promote the networking of Catholic Schools through mutual sharing and collaboration.
